Cynthia Barrett has served as Head of Voice and Speech for the professional actor training program at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and the department of Dance and Theatre at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. She's also been a visiting faculty member specializing in voice at University of California-Davis, University of Illinois, Kennesaw State and Interlochen Center for the Arts. Private clients in voice and non-regional speech include Pillowtex, Georgia Tech, Bank of America, Triad Yoga Institute, Oracle Inc., and Speak Easy Spanish. She has served as voice/test/dialect coach for the Alliance Theatre, Horizon Theatre, Actor's Express, Synchronicity, North Carolina Shakespeare Festival and Georgia Shakespeare. She is a certified Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework, holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is a member of Actor's Equity Association and the Voice and Speech Trainer's Association (VASTA). Karen Roughton is a dedicated professional with a proven track record of speaking, teaching and coaching excellence. She has over 20 years experience as a professional speaker on the telecommunications national speaking circuit, media relations and spokesperson and corporate trainer. Onstage experience as an actor is vital for speech trainers. Karen holds a degree in Dramatic Arts and has performed in many theatrical performances including They're Playing Our Song, Cabaret, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Gypsy, Annie and The Threepenny Opera. Karen is a member of the Voice and Speech Trainer's Association (VASTA) and Toastmasters International. Karen is currently assisting Judith in her Communications Workshops.
